Bio

John Bowis OBE served as a Member of the European Parliament for London from 1999 until stepping down in 2009.

Before his election to the European Parliament John served as the MP for Battersea from 1987 - 1997. In John Major's Government, John was appointed Health & Social Services Minister followed by Minister for Transport in London & Road Safety.

As well as being a patron of a number of charities, John is an expert in health policy and is an international health policy adviser.
